COURSE OVERVIEW

LAUNCH GRO Artist Development

Girls+ Rock Ottawa partners with ArtHaus to provide recording and networking opportunities for 5 developing artists. Artists interested in participating apply through Girls+ Rock Ottawa and join us for 2 weeks of events and development sessions. Recording original music at the ArtHaus Studio as well as attending the RBC Imagine Summit, networking opportunities, and 1on1 development mentorship sessions with ArtHaus’ Sandy Pandya, this is our first ever in-person Art of Guidance program.

COURSE DETAILS

ARTIST RECORDING SESSIONS with SAMEER CASH

  • Each participant has at least 1 full day recording session with our resident Recording and Mixing Engineer, Sameer Cash, in the ArtHaus Studio. All recordings remain artist-owned.

NETWORKING AND MENTORSHIP EVENT with RBC IMAGINE SUMMIT

  • Domanique Grant and Arthaus share the importance of mindfulness and visualization in the creative process.

  • Guest speakers answer questions and share their experiences in building their careers: Yasuke (Artist & Tik Tok Influencer), Kara Purto (Project Manager @ 604 Records), Sandy Pandya (Artist Manager @ Pandyamonium Management), Abby Albino (Head of Development @ Mad Ruk Entertainment)

  • Workshop with RBC representative Margaret Lewis on finances for creatives.

  • Performances from Miranda Joan and Töme

1on1 ARTIST DEVELOPMENT MENTORSHIP SESSIONS with SANDY PANDYA

  • Each participant meets 1v1 with Sandy for 45 minutes to receive personal coaching

MENTORS

Sandy Pandya

Sandy Pandya paved her own lane in the Canadian music industry, cementing herself as a leader and advancing the careers of the artists she represents. Her passion for music and inability to accept the word “no” supported her affinity for championing underdogs, which afforded her a career spanning over 20 years and counting. ArtHaus is led by Sandya Pandya, and has grown out of her company Pandyamonium Management and Publishing. Today the organization encompasses the ArtHaus Music label, as well as the ArtHaus Management and Publishing companies. Pandya has been a creative force in the music industry working with artists such as Frank Dukes, Serena Ryder, Doc McKinney, Mike Sonier, Hawksley Workman, Hayden, Tegan and Sara, Dear Rouge, Alejandra Ribera. She sits on the boards of the Canadian Independent Musicians Association, Unison Benevolent Fund, and was recently honoured by the Music Managers Forum 2019 Honour Roll Award as well as the 2018 Brian Chater Industry Award.

RBC Imagine Summit

The Imagine Summit aims to support artist-entrepreneurs in imagining beyond the limitations of the current global climate by offering exclusive access to industry leaders, visualization training and financial resources in an effort to support emerging artists develop financially viable careers.

The Imagine Summit will offer you the opportunity to be a part of a virtual fireside chat/ Q&A with an incredible line up of creators, influencers and music industry reps, who will be discussing strategy for how to strengthen your existing projects and business, to make more money and to make bigger impact.

The summit will also focus on teaching creators how to manage creative blocks, fear and imposter syndrome through a combination of visualization and mindfulness techniques.

Special Performances by Juno Award Winning Singer/ Songwriter Tome and Miranda Joan

The Imagine Summit is an artist/entrepreneurship summit presented by RBC, produced by Grant Creativity Inc. and in partnership with Arthaus.

FACTOR

FACTOR (the Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings) is a public/private partnership that supports the production of sound recordings by Canadian musicians and helps Canadian music companies make recordings available to a wider public.

With funding and services designed to assist the spectrum of musical expressions and talent, FACTOR is committed to reflecting the diversity of the Canadian population in its programs and operations while also promoting inclusiveness within the broader Canadian music sector.

We are dedicated to providing assistance toward the growth, development, and strengthening of the Canadian music industry. FACTOR adjudicates the distribution of funds from the Department of Canadian Heritage through the Canada Music Fund and from Canada’s private radio broadcasters. FACTOR has been managing federal funds since the inception of the Sound Recording Development Program in 1986 (now known as the Canada Music Fund).

Support is provided to Canadian recording artists, songwriters, artist managers, record labels, music publishers, distributors, and event producers through numerous programs. Whether an artist is looking to record a demo or a full-length sound recording, market an existing album, or go on tour at home or internationally, there is a purpose-built funding program. FACTOR supports the infrastructure that must be in place in order for artists and music entrepreneurs to progress into the international arena.
